Mural Painting

Anatomy of a Mural

This is the look of a mural in progress. This mural was hand painted on canvas in my studio to be installed in a Victorian home in New Jersey.  When these homeowners decided to remodel their master bathroom, a plan and design was developed along with an interior designer to have a mural installed above a marble surround tub area. These photos show the various stages of the painting process.

This photo shows how I laid out the picture on canvas in my studio.

The top of the canvas is folded down so I can paint at my eye level.

The size is 9′ x 51/2′

This photo shows more of the progression.

The finished product, ready to be installed. The actual painting process took approximately  2 months. The beginning design process was approximately  2 weeks give or take.
